The Presidents

Victoria Mouro Assahina is a senior at UC Berkeley double majoring in Economics and Data Science. She currently serves as Co-President of the Undergraduate Economics Association, after previously holding roles as Secretary and Director of Academic Affairs. She has worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Berkeley’s Economics Department, focusing on data modeling and econometrics, and spent a summer as a Research Analyst Intern at OSKR, LLC. Beyond academics, Victoria enjoys ballet, cooking, baking, and playing Mario Kart. She’s equally happy trying new restaurants and desserts in San Francisco as she is cooking with fresh finds from the Berkeley Bowl. Her favorite UEA memory so far is retreat, and her idea of a perfect weekend is a mix of good food, a workout, and time to recharge.

Co-President

Victoria Mouro Assahina

Cate Carlson is a senior at UC Berkeley studying Environmental Economics and Policy. She currently serves as Co-President of the Undergraduate Economics Association, after previously leading the organization’s research team as Research Director.

Outside of UEA, she conducts experimental economics research at Berkeley’s Xlab and spent a summer as an NSF Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, focusing on marine resource economics. Outside of academics and professional work, Cate loves spending time outdoors and being creative. Some of her favorite hobbies include backpacking, photography, and going to the gym. Her most memorable UEA experience so far has been the retreat, and her idea of a perfect weekend is a big hike followed by a long nap.
